Fillongley Warwickshire Instructor

In March 2018, the Trustees of the Gundog Club announced that as from September 2018 the Gundog Club would only accredit Force Free trainers. You can read more about this here. This announcement has several implications. Right now, in the first half of 2018, the Club is in a state of transition. We have some trainers that have been confirmed as Force Free and others that are still going through a reaccreditation process. This instructor has not (yet and may or may not be) been accredited as a Force Free instructor.

Chris Warner is our Gundog Club Instructor based in Fillongley Warwickshire. He has been associated with the Gundog Club since 2008 and has trained students with all breeds of Gundogs following the Graded Training Scheme.

Experienced instructor

Chris has been training and working dogs for 25 years. Although Chris’s first dog was not KC registered and could not compete he was trained to Working Test and Field Trial standard. Further Retrievers followed competing to a high standard in Working Tests and Field Trials with Chris also Judging these competitions.

To broaden his knowledge of the Gundog breeds he complimented his team with  Cockers and Springers once again competing in Working Tests and Field Trials.

Chris also works his dogs in the Beating Line and Picking Up on both small and large shoots. Chris has also been a committee member on various Gundog Societies and is currently the Training Coordinator for Midland Gundog Society.

Gundog training ground

His facilities include a fully secure training paddock ideal for Puppy and Introductory sessions and access to a range of different ground including grassland, woodland, bracken, light and dense cover, obstacles (safe fencing and ditches) and water (lakes and streams/rivers). At certain times there is also the opportunity to expose dogs to the “Game ” environment.

All welcome

Chris welcomes both pet and working Gundogs for training, following The Graded Training scheme or helping with specific training requirements.
