We sell a range of anti-bark spray collars
for dogs with severe 'nuisance barking' problems
The anti-bark collars on sale on this
website do not cause pain, but emit a harmless jet of air which is
accompanied by a loud hissing sound. Although painless,
spray collars do startle and upset most dogs. This is how they
'interrupt' the barking behaviour. Please read the following
carefully before purchasing a bark collar for your dog.
Is an anti-bark collar appropriate for
your dog?
All dogs bark, some bark a great deal more
than others. Barking is a natural behaviour, it is how dogs
may communicate fear and distress, as well as boredom and excitement.
Dogs which are fearful or distressed need help, not bark prevention.
Anti-bark collars are not suitable for such dogs. If your dog is
barking excessively, have him checked by your vet who will be able to
offer you advice on techniques to reduce barking.
Some dogs bark excessively when bored or
excited. Regular exercise and training should keep your dog stimulated
and help him to relax when alone. Stuffed kong toys will also help
alleviate boredom. It may be possible to reduce nuisance barking by
training techniques. Your vet will be able to recommend a
professional animal behaviourist to help you teach your pet acceptable
behaviour.
Where anti-bark collars can help
Occasionally the happy, well-exercised dog
continues to bark despite his owner's best efforts. The barking
then becomes an ingrained habit which is difficult to break. This can be
very upsetting for you and your neighbours, and dangerous if it
occurs during car journeys. An other-wise happy dog which is
barking repeatedly with excitement or for his own pleasure, can often be
successfully prevented from barking with an anti-bark collar.
Please note: spray collars are not a
'soft' option, and may upset your dog. If used appropriately
as explained above, and according to the instructions, many but
not all problem barking dogs can successfully be treated by
