We have carefully chosen
a selection of products which may help you treat your dog's anxiety
at home. General stress and anxiety can be alleviated by the DAP
products below. Fear of loud noises can be treated by a
gradual desensitisation using our
Sounds for Behaviour
Therapy CD. These two products can be used in
conjunction with one another. |

Sounds For Behaviour Therapy |
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
Behaviour modification
is an effective way of reducing stress caused by
fear of loud noises. It involves gradually
accustoming the dog to the fearful sounds at very
low levels until the fear passes, and then
slowly raising the volume of the sound over time
until the fear is overcome. The Sounds For
Behaviour Therapy CD contains recordings of
30 tracks of common noises such as fireworks,
thunder, gunfire, vacuum cleaner, lorrys, hot air
balloons and children playing. It comes complete
with a training booklet.

Important
All dogs which show
regular or severe signs of stress or anxiety
should be examined by a veterinary surgeon, before
therapy is commenced. Your vet is the best person to advise you if
your dog displays any abnormal or anxious behaviour, both to exclude any
physical problem and to help you consider the latest appropriate
treatments available. |
