Gundog Club student Susanne Pope and her Wirehaired Vizsla Leiborschy Kaleb began Grade One training with the Gundog Club in November 2008. To Susanne’s delight Kaleb passed his Grade One field test with distinction in January this year scoring 94 points out of 100.

Susanne and Kaleb started their Grade Two training at the beginning of April. Susanne told us that she was so thrilled when my Leiborschy Kaleb again passed with a Distinction (90/100) on 24th May”

Encouraged by her friends, Susanne bravely entered a beginners Working Test* on 21st June.   There were six other dogs in the test, and to Susanne’s delight and credit,  Kaleb not only won the test, scoring 89 out of 100,  but also attracted some nice comments from the Judge John Parnham.   The photo shows Lieborschy Kaleb with his well earned rosette.

Susanne feels that the structured training provided by the gundog club was instrumental in helping her, as a complete novice, in her excellent progress so far.   Her very special thanks go to Gundog Club instructor Tony Russell for his expert training and  HPR knowledge.

Kaleb wears his rosette with pride!

*Working Tests are competitions run by the Kennel Club.  Gundog Club training is non-competitive,  dogs must meet a standard in order to pass their Gundog Club Field Test at each Grade.  Gundog Club training is an ideal foundation for those that wish to become involved in competitive gundog work in the future.

Tony Russell's next Grade One course in East Sussex starts on  1st August, and you can view details here.    For more information on Gundog Club training courses or one-to-one tuition, telephone 01428 717529
