The
following matter has been brought to our attention. A member of the
public has contacted us to let us know that they have suffered an
unpleasant experience on a gundog training course in Leicestershire.
The person in question was under the impression that they were
attending a course run on behalf of the Gundog Club and that they
were being trained by a Gundog Club Instructor. This is not the
case. We have also been contacted by concerned persons to let us
know that there are other non-Gundog Club courses being advertised
on the internet in the Midlands that give the impression they are
being run on our behalf.
The Gundog
Club would like to make it very clear that we are not running any
group gundog training courses in Leicestershire at the present time.
Gundog
training standards vary widely throughout the country. The Gundog
Club monitors all its trainers and insists on high standards of
performance and conduct. For example, Gundog Club trainers are not
permitted to use harsh training methods. Trainers whose conduct or
performance is found to fall short of our standards are not
permitted to remain on our register.
Please be
aware that Graded Training is a Gundog Club trademark and that
Graded Training for gundogs is only available through the Gundog
Club. The only way to purchase a place on a Gundog Club training
course, or a Gundog Club Field Test is through our website or by
telephone with a member of our staff at head office, our telephone

We will be
arranging courses in Leicestershire in the future, but in the
meantime if you would like to attend a Gundog Club course, we
do have have courses running in the following neighbouring counties:
