Know your category
The Gundog Club offers training
in three* different categories
You need
to know which category your dog belongs to.
You can find a list of gundog breeds grouped in
their categories here:

If your
dog is of mixed parentage, you will need to
decide which category to train in.

Pointers and Setters: Please note that (English)
pointers and setters are not included in this scheme
at present. None of the three categories we
offer is suitable for pointers or setters intended
for Field Trails. If your dog is a
pointer or setter, and you are hoping to compete in
Field Trials in the future, you should not
attempt to teach your dog to retrieve.
However, if your pointer or setter is a
pet/companion, and he likes to retrieve,
you and he will almost certainly enjoy, and benefit
from, training in the HPR category
