An introduction to
Fieldwork for young gundogs - the Grade
One Field Test is for young dogs who have just begun
their training.
This straightforward HPR test is designed to
allow the handler to demonstrate that their dog has
some natural ability and that basic training has
been correctly established |

OBEDIENCE
-
HEEL:
The dog walks to heel on the lead, for 20
yards from the 'line' to the 'sit marker'
-
SIT &
STAY: The dog must sit on command at the sit
marker. The handler removes the dog's lead
and returns to the 'line' without him. The
dog remains seated until recalled after a 30
second stay.
-
RECALL: The handler
standing on the line, recalls the dog from
the sit marker (20 yards)
