The
Gundog Club's graded training scheme is currently
under development and has six levels
of award.
Grade One (Beginner): is the simplest. It tests
whether you have established the foundations of
basic obedience and simple retrieving, on which all
your further training will build. There are training
courses, and a step-by-step training manual,
available to help you reach this level, if you would
like extra help.
Grade Six (Master): is
the top level, and will be designed to test a fully
trained working gundog.
Available Grades:
Grades One to Five are already available for
retrievers and spaniels, with spaniel Grade five and
retriever Grade six
currently under development and due for release soon. The HPR
grades are available in Grades One, Two and Three, and are ideal for getting beginners of
to a great start. The release of the remaining HPR
grades will be the final phase of the scheme
Remember, you can take
each grade in one of three categories - retriever,
hunting retriever or HPR, depending on your dog's
traditional role, and the role that you want him to
work in, at the end of his training. To
