For many years hunting breeds of gundog puppies have had their tails docked to prevent the horrible damage that can occur to long tails when hunting dogs are working.

Tail docking is now illegal in England for any dog that is not specifically bred for work. An exemption has been sensibly provided for working gundogs.  This ensures that a working bred English gundog can still hunt safely without damaging his tail and the suffering this causes.

Sadly the Scottish parliament passed their tail docking law without providing this vital exemption for Scottish working gundogs.    An amendment to this law is urgently needed now for Scottish spaniels and HPRs.   Please help by signing this petition below
